SEMI PERMANENT LIP BLUSH

Lip blushing is a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo, that enhances the beauty of the natural lip color, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fullness. This treatment delivers very natural results, once healed. Filler may be great for creating volume in your lips, but lip blush delivers a more natural look and gives the illusion of fuller lips. . It can be a corrective treatment to help even out the tone of the lips, as well as help with asymmetry.

How does Lip Blush Work?

A rotary device is used to deposit and layer pigments within the lips to create a soft and natural blush tone. The technique uses a small needle and works softly on the lips to very gently implant the colour without creating too heavy of a lip-liner/border appearance. Colors are chosen for the client's desired results and skin tones, but my overall aim is to give lips life and a natural tint without being too dramatic. Pixelating the pigment with an ombre technique, slight opacity and sheerness creates a soft blush appearance.

How long does it take?

A lip tattoo session takes about 2 -3 hours. This can depend on lip size and definition or correction required.

Is there any downtime?

Like any tattoo, swelling and redness is unavoidable. You may experience an intensified vibrancy from the pigment causing a temporary boldness to your lips. As they heal, the swelling will desist, the vibrancy will settle, and the color will restore to a natural finish.

How long does it take to heal?

It takes around 5 to 10 days for the lips heal after a lip blushing procedure. In that time you may experience some dryness and texture until the lips naturally exfoliate themselves. Be aware that the color will vary quite a lot during the healing process before reaching the final color. There are several factors that can influence the colour of your lips, on a daily basis; such as temperature, hormones health etc. Lips are a process, the skin on the lips varies significantly, to the skin on the rest of our bodies and therefore certain areas on the lips may require several sessions, in order to achieve the desired results. Generally a minimum of 2 sessions is required and sometimes a third session is required.

Will I need a touch up?

The best results generally come from a two-step process. Touch ups allow us to analyze how the colour regenerates beneath the skin and add in areas that may have healed incorrectly. Healed results are unique to each client and we do our best to create a consistent experience. Touch ups are beneficial for layering the pigment for more saturation and must be completed within 6 weeks from the original session.

How long does it last?

Lip tint can last for up to two years without any retouching. If you don't like the shade that was chosen for you, it can be adjusted after the healing process (which takes about five to ten days) is over. Skin type and lifestyle can effect the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo - we can not guarantee specific results. The sun and certain skincare products such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, glycolic acids etc. will contribute to the lip colour fading faster.

Is there any pain?

A topical numbing cream is applied, so you'll feel only a light stippling sensation as the pigment is applied. Discomfort is minimal and a numbing ointment is used to insure a painless procedure. This may vary depending on the individuals pain tolerance. To ensure that you feel little to no pain, numbing cream is applied throughout the procedure.

How do you choose the colour?

Together we will decide on colour choice that best suits your skin tone and current lip color.  Then, we will review how best to correct or improve lip shape if necessary. If you have a favorite lip color feel free to bring it along, so we can color match it.
